Eiko by Eiko
Eiko by Eiko is Eiko Ishioka’s ultimate monograph, designed, as the title suggests, by herself. Recognised as “Japan’s Ultimate Designer”, Eiko Ishioka was a multifaceted artist known for her work in costume design, graphic design, and art direction for films, stage productions, and other artistic endeavors. Profusion of sumptuous imagery, some shocking, others sensual, always authentic and ahead-of-her-time, Eiko by Eiko is a significant publication that provides insight into her creative process and showcases her outstanding work.
Included in the book too, are fifteen essays written by renowned colleagues in Japanese arts, letters, fashion, and industry, notably Akira Kurosawa, Issey Miyake, Ikko Tanaka, and Isamu Noguchi.
